Documentarian and portraitist, Ernest Goh's photography is inspired by "common things in life". Among the awards he has won are the Singapore Press Holdings Scholarship (1996); Canon Asia Pacific Photo Contest, 2nd Place in Youth Category (1996); Philips Design Excellence Award (1999), Merit Prize, International Epson Colour Photo Contest (2003) and more. As a documentarian, he has published Beyond Mask, a compilation of his photos of the SARS outbreak from inside the hospitals, and more recently he spent weeks in Aceh documenting the aftermath of the tsunami for Singapore NGO Mercy Relief. Ernest is currently active as an independent photographer and has become the first artist-in-residence at Singapore's Objectifs Photography and Film School.
