葉青霖跟攝影的?份始於1968年。從他得到第一部玩具照相機開始，便與攝影結下不解之?。1977年從香港理工學院 (即今理工大學 ) 設計系畢業後，從事攝影工作至今廿多年，對攝影的熱愛從未間斷。
葉青霖專業成就超卓，1986年率先發起成立「香港專業攝影師公會」。他擅長拍攝人像，並?任亞太區多間學府、社團、學會顧問及客座講師，且曾多次應邀出任國際性攝影及設計比賽、甚至香港小姐選美之評審工作。

With over 30 years of experience, Alain Yip is a leading name in the Hong Kong photography industry with outstanding accomplishments in his specialty, portraits. He is the founder of the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers, has held numerous lectures, and has served as a consultant for a number of colleges, community organizations, and scholarly associations in the Asia Pacific region. He has also been involved in international photography and design competitions, and has even served as a judge in the Ms. Hong Kong beauty contest.
